table with San Francisco Bay Area mountain scenes. Mount Tamalpais and
Mount Diablo within a grape leaf pattern. California, early 20th
century. Pyrography is the art or technique of decorating wood or
leather by burning a design on the surface with a heated metallic point.
This was popular in the early 1900's. Table displays beautifully and is
structurally stable for use, but has gone through modifications and
repairs over the years. Steel "L" bracket reinforcement, repairs to
split top. Appears to be made of clear heart pine or fir. Original
Finish. Measures 28ʺDiameter × 30.5ʺH.
